Justin Quiles and Rawayana’s “Boom Boom” is a heist with a party attached. Justin cuts open a welded-shut trunk at a chop shop and pulls out a duffel of cash and the Gato medallion. He hands the bag to the boss, who pulls up with Brenda in the back seat, and from the moment their hands touch the rest of the video is the two of them trying not to look at each other.
We shot it in one day in a Miami junkyard with Field Trip: dominoes, dancers in the center of the pit, ATVs and cars burning out through Beto’s verse, and surreal portraits of Justin and Brenda cut in whenever their eyes meet. As the sun goes down Justin drives away alone and hangs the medallion from the rearview mirror for her to see.
