On the eve of his wedding, Esteban returns to a Brooklyn bar that feels oddly familiar and ends up in conversation with an old friend: a softly glowing spaceship-themed pinball machine, fitted with a long-forgotten civic AI memory system. Part confession, part reunion, the machine draws out reflections on past love, alternate selves, and the calm of growing older.
We wrote, directed, produced and edited the 13 minute short as an original, shot over two nights in Brooklyn bars with Tommy Martinez and Jess Darrow. Our production designer found a working vintage machine on Craigslist in New Jersey and rebuilt it with custom electronics and artwork to be photographed practically. Xander Rodzinski scored it.
The film premiered at Sidewalk Film Festival in August 2026, screened at Show Me Shorts in Auckland, and had its New York premiere at the 17th SOHO International Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best U.S. Short and Best Lead Performance for Tommy Martinez.
